THE PROBLEM IS PERVASIVE

When employees were surveyed:

  • 40% of Canadian employees report symptoms relating to depression and other mental illness, according to a 2017 survey conducted by Ipsos.
  • About 50% of millennials identify with a mental health problem.
  • 40% of disability claims are attributed to mental health problems or substance use disorders.

More employees are asking for help. And employers have a duty to accommodate. Simply assuming that the public sector will solve the problem is a costly trap for employers.
